Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy in collaboration with our founders for the PC Steam game Stormforge to grow email subscribers and Wishlists.

• Manage and grow our social media presence across various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Discord, Twitch, Reddit, Steam Discussion Boards, and YouTube.

• Actively respond to all DMs, comments, and mentions across social channels.

• Work with internal stakeholders to create and curate engaging content tailored to our community, such as images, live streams, videos, blog posts, tutorials, and guides.

• Partner with content creators to amplify their events and enhance community participation through sponsorships and promotions.

• Monitor social media trends and relevant memes to integrate effective strategies into our community engagement efforts.

• Organize and oversee community events that excite and involve our audience, ensuring consistent participation and enthusiasm.

• Collaborate with the games team to develop a roadmap of announcements, content, and reveals that maintain community interest and engagement.

• Rigorously test content messaging and creative formats to discover what resonates the most with our audience.

• Generate regular reports to communicate community feedback, concerns, and suggestions to the games team.

• Manage all logistics, security, and moderation of community platforms like Discord with the help of marketing contractors.

• Recruit, train, and manage moderators to maintain a civil and welcoming community environment.

• Balance speed of communication with sound judgment in crafting external messages.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience managing social media or communities in gaming or gaming-adjacent spaces. 

• Proven ability to build a community from scratch across various social media platforms.

• Track record of creating viral content on key platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter.

• Moderate to hardcore Survival Crafting games player (e.g., Valheim, Corekeeper, V Rising, Subnautica, Return to Moria, The Forest, Terraria, Rust, Raft, Conan Exiles, etc.) that is deeply embedded in these game communities. 

• Exceptional written communication skills for engaging with an external audience.

• Demonstrated experience driving engagement on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms.

• Strong understanding of social media trends and the ability to apply them to community management.

• Knowledge of what content engages Survival Crafting players on social media platforms.

• Ability to foster a community culture that is inclusive and engaging for all members.

• Analytical and comfortable working with data.

• Extremely organized, methodical, and structured in execution.

• Hungry and motivated to learn; have demonstrated the ability to independently learn completely new skills and knowledge as needed to achieve goals.

• Resourceful and proactive mindset; able to work in an ambiguous environment and take ownership of projects.

• Skilled in both providing and receiving constructive feedback in a professional manner.

• Comfortable working with image and video editing software (Photoshop, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and equivalent).

• Familiar with video recording software (OBS Studio, etc.).

The anticipated compensation for this role is $40,000 / £30,000 actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
